
Tecnologia & Defesa Magazine
General Information
1 – Tecnologia & Defesa magazine is the oldest publication about defense, aeronautical, space and public safety sectors edited in Brazil and currently in circulation in Latin America.
2 – In March, 2008, the magazine celebrated 25 years of existence. Its condition of leader in defense and aerospace areas has been determinant to be chosen by the third consecutive time as the official publication of the Latin America Aero & Defence – LAAD (previously name as LAD), by the fair’s organizer, the British group Reed Exhibitions. Since 2005 Tecnologia & Defesa magazine is confirmed as the official publication of LAAD 2009.
In 2000, Commissariat Général des Expositions et Salons du Gicat (COGES), a French governmental
entity, included Tecnologia & Defesa in the list of the ten most important defense and aerospace
magazines around the world.
3 – Tecnologia & Defesa is published every three months and has a circulation of 16,000-18,000 copies
per issue. Around 2,614 (number updated in September, 30, 2007) copies of each issue are sent free of
any cost to a complete mailing list in Latin America which includes, in Brazil, military officials
(generals, brigadiers and admirals) in charge of command and support roles at the Armed Forces,
politicians, journalists, defense and aerospace executives, diplomats, military attachés, government
agencies, research institutes and universities, public safety authorities, etc. In a reduced scale,
Tecnologia & Defesa is also sent to military and police authorities in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia,
Ecuador and Venezuela. Supplements and special editions are frequently edited focusing on specific
issues in an average of two or three a year, with the same number of copies and circulation. Thus,
considering the supplements, the periodicity of the Tecnologia & Defesa products is bimonthly.
4 – The distribution of Tecnologia & Defesa editions is made by Fernando Chinaglia Distribuidora S/A, and the profile of the readers of the magazine which purchase the magazines in bookstores and newstands is formed by members of A/B class, (specially businessmen), self-employed workers, graduated public employees, college students, militaries, and policemen. These dates were obtained through a private research carried out in September, 2007. Public direct sale rate is around 68-75%.
